Personalized EV charging

Find the right charging setup for your EV

Choose the exact model year and trim, then match the car to your daily mileage, parking time, outlet, and circuit. The result keeps home AC charging separate from public DC fast charging so an adapter-supported EV is not mistaken for a native NACS vehicle.

    Your EV and routine

    35 miles

    Daily energy first

The finder estimates the energy used by your routine, adds charging losses, and checks whether that energy can be replaced during the hours the car is parked.

    Two connector decisions

Home recommendations use the vehicle's AC inlet. Road-trip guidance uses its DC fast-charge port plus verified native, adapter, or Magic Dock access.

    Installation is local

The circuit result is a planning target. A licensed electrician must verify the panel, wiring, breaker, equipment listing, cable route, permit, and local rules.

    Charging setup questions

Does every EV owner need Level 2 charging?

No. A dedicated 120V circuit can cover some drivers when their daily mileage is modest and the car remains parked long enough. The finder compares estimated daily energy with the available charging window before recommending Level 2.

Does Tesla Supercharger access determine my home connector?

No. A CCS vehicle may use a NACS-to-CCS adapter at supported Tesla Superchargers while still using J1772 for AC charging at home. PlugRanked evaluates the home and public connectors separately.

Why might PlugRanked recommend 32A instead of 48A?

The smallest setup that replaces routine daily energy during the parking window is usually the sensible target. A larger circuit can add future flexibility, but it does not make a vehicle charge faster than its onboard charger allows.
